In March 2020, Crocs gave away more than 860,000 (valued at $40 million) pairs of shoes to healthcare workers who showed up to provide care in the throes of the coronavirus pandemic.

A little more than a year into the pandemic, the shoe company has decided to recognize and reward frontline personnel once more by providing more free Crocs for healthcare workers. This year’s effort will bring the total donation amount to more than 900,000 pairs of Crocs shoes.

Now through May 14, Crocs is giving 10,000 pairs of shoes every day to healthcare heroes through their Free Pair for Healthcare program. As part of the program, Crocs will ship a pair of shoes from their Crocs at Work collection at no charge to people actively employed in health care who continue to provide comfort in our communities — just in time for National Nurses Week.

The website will open for sign-ups at approximately noon ET every day. The request form will be available until the day’s allotment has been reached.

“We are thrilled to bring back our ‘Free Pair for Healthcare’ program and celebrate our frontline healthcare heroes who have worked harder than ever before to provide comfort in our communities over the past year,” Crocs CEO Andrew Rees said in a press release. “Last year’s program reinforced for our brand that doing the right thing is the right thing for Crocs, and we are honored to be able to take this moment to once again provide our shoes, this time as a thank you for the incredible work these individuals do each and every day.”

The company announced the giveaway on Twitter as well.

“In honor of National Nurses Week and to all the healthcare workers, Crocs wants to thank you for all the hard work and celebrate those who have been on the frontlines throughout it all,” Crocs Shoes tweeted, along with a short video.

“It’s been over a year & we still need to take care of each other while celebrating our frontline heroes in healthcare by giving away 10,000 pairs of Crocs,” tweeted Crocs Shoes in another post.

Free Crocs for healthcare workers are a good fit, as many people in the industry appreciate the comfortable foam shoes. The Crocs at Work collection are made with hardworking people in mind, as they are easy to clean, simple to slip on and off, slip-resistant, lightweight and waterproof. Shoes in the collection cost $35 and up.

Crocs are rather en vogue right now as well, thanks to collaborations with celebrities and brands, such as Post Malone, Justin Bieber, KFC and Barney’s New York. In the fourth quarter of 2020, the brand sold 18.9 million pairs of shoes.

In addition, Questlove showed up on the red carpet of the 2021 Oscars wearing gold crocs, and Nicki Minaj’s recent Instagram post in which she’s wearing pink Crocs and very little else had a lot of fans searching for the Barbie-pink clogs online.

To request a pair of free Crocs for healthcare workers, go to the Crocs Sharing a Pair for Healthcare website at 12 p.m. ET to get in the virtual line. The form will close once the daily limit has been met. However, the page states, “If you visit this page the day of the event prior to the event time you will be placed in the pre-queue.”
