The Florida Department of Transportation is warning SunPass users of an email scam asking them for past-due payments.
Users will get a bogus email from SunPassNotice@ezpass-collections.net that will link to a fake invoice and say something like this:
“Please find the attached invoice for past due tolls that have been charged to your Sun Pass account. Failure to pay will result in a summons for court appearance within 30 days.”
FDOT wants users to know they will not receive invoices through an email, they are only sent through the U.S. mail.
If you've gotten one of the fake emails, you can file a complaint here.
Anyone receiving communications from third parties attempting to collect payment of tolls should exercise caution. If you have any questions regarding your account, please visit www.SunPass.com, or contact the SunPass Customer Service Center at 1-888-865-5352.
