It's Veterans Day weekend and the Bay area is once again hosting Ribfest; a three day charity fundraiser to help a variety of youth oriented causes.
Beginning Friday, St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park will have a wide range of musical guests, games and of course, nationally acclaimed ribs.
Headlining musical acts for the weekend include Huey Lewis & the News, the Doobie Brothers, and Chris Young. Several other musicians will perform on two different stages as well. A full list of the performance schedule can be found on the event website.
Ribs are obviously a huge part of the event, and 13 award-winning ribbers will be showcasing their specialties, including St. Pete's own Fat Fred's Famous BBQ. A full list of vendors is also available on the Ribfest website.
Over the past 26 years, Northeast Exchange Club has donated $4.6 million to over 40 different organizations including All Children's Hospital, Pinellas Education Foundation and Clearwater Marine Institute.
Gates open at 11:00 a.m. each day and tickets for the event can be purchased at the gate for $30 on Friday, and $35 on Saturday and Sunday.
Shuttle transportation will be available from four different stops in St. Pete running approximately every 15 minutes for a $10 fee.
