You've goat to be kidding me, goat yoga craze comes to Tampa

Posted

If you haven't heard, the "goat yoga" craze is sweeping the nation. Goat yoga started in Oregon and is now available in almost everywhere, including Tampa Bay!

Goat yoga combines the calming meditation with the happiness that comes from having adorable little goats wandering all around.

Yoga teachers say having goats around makes students less self-conscious, especially for yoga beginners.

It also helps socialize the goats - who can be a handful!

Karla Simmons owns an organic farm in Rhode Island and knows this first hand, "They never do what you want them to do. They live by their own agenda which is maybe what is so freeing about doing goat yoga with them."

If you want to experience goat yoga yourself, head out to Hat Trick Ranch in Thonotosassa. They offer goat yoga classes for $20 every Saturday in May at 10 a.m. The class fee goes towards benefiting the Grady Goat Foundation.

The classes are limited to 25 participants, so be sure to register online in advance

There is also a farm in Orlando that offers goat yoga. Wild Flower Farm offers classes on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. for $15 which goes towards running the farm. They ask that you please email them in advance if you would like to attend because space is limited. Email wildflowerfarm32807@gmail.com if you plan on attending.
