Red tide found in low concentrations in or offshore Hillsborough County

The latest FWC red tide report shows very low concentrations of K. brevis now present in or offshore Hillsborough County.

The map of reported blooms extends from South Florida to Hillsborough County.

Observations:
Pinellas County: Background to Low Concentrations

Hillsborough County: Very low Concentrations
Manatee County: Background to High Concentrations
Sarasota County: Background to High Concentrations
Charlotte County: Background to High Concentrations
Lee County: Background to High Concentrations

Respiratory irritation was reported over the past week in Pinellas County (8/14 at Pass-a-Grille),
Manatee County (8/9-8/16 at Coquina Beach, 8/9-8/11 and 8/13-8/16 at Manatee Beach), Sarasota
County (8/9-8/17 at Lido Key, 8/9-8/17 at Manasota Beach, 8/9-8/16 at Nokomis, 8/9-8/10 and 8/12-8/16 at Siesta Key, 8/10-8/13 and 8/15-8/16 at Venice Beach, 8/9-8/16 at Venice North Jetty),

Very low concentration was found along the inshore of South Skyway Rest Area; 3.4 mi N of (Lower Tampa Bay) and very low concentration offshore at Egmont Key.
