The world-famous AK-47 assault rifle will soon be made in Florida.
The gun maker, Kalashnikov USA, announced plans to open an assembly plant in Pompano Beach.
The famous weapons used to be imported from the original manufacurer in Moscow. That process was halted after President Barack Obama imposed sanctions against Russia when they annexed Crimea.
That move by the United States also caused the value of the weapons to rise significantly.
The weapon is named after designer Mikhail Kalashnikov and its first year of production, 1947.
