A Miami man was arrested on Friday for impersonating a police officer after he pulled over a Miami-Dade police detective in an unmarked vehicle on I-95, authorities say.

The Miami-Dade Police Detective was traveling northbound on I-95, in a County issued unmarked vehicle, and he was in a full MDPD uniform.

Marcos Pacheco-Bustamante was driving a Ford Crown Victoria, changed lanes and got behind the Detective's vehicle. He followed the unmarked police vehicle and activated his police sirens, initiating a traffic stop.

The detective pulled over to the shoulder of the road near NW 119th Street. When the detective got out of his vehicle, he realized he was dealing with a police impersonator. Pacheco-Bustamante was taken into custody.

Detectives searched his vehicle and found an H&K BB gun replica and a police blue light.

While being interviewed, Pacheco-Bustamante confessed that he had done this to other drivers as well.

Pacheco-Bustamante was charged with impersonating a police officer and booked on a $5,000 bond.

If you believe you may have been a victim of Bustamante's crime, please contact the Miami-Dade Police Department at 305-471-8477.
