DEBARY, Fla -- A Florida man suspected of murdering his ex-girlfriend was arrested on Monday after investigators discovered his fingerprint left in blood at the crime scene.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a suspicious death on Sunday when 51-year-old Lisa Bresie was found dead in her DeBary home. Deputies discovered Bresie in her home when they went to do a well-being check. Investigators say that Bresie had multiple stab wounds and there as a large amount of blood in the home.

Deputies were at the home Sunday morning because Florida Highway Patrol troopers found Bresie's car on Thursday morning in Pinellas County. Investigators say that deputies left her home when no one answered the door.

Investigators say that Bersie's ex-boyfriend, Anton Lamar Sanders, 45, was driving Bersie's vehicle when it was found in Pinellas County on I-275. Reports stated that Sanders was showing signs of distress and impairment. Investigators say he tried to jump off a bridge to kill himself. He was transported to a hospital in St. Pete for a mental health evaluation.

During the investigation, a trooper noticed blood in the car. Sanders' clothing was later confirmed to have blood on it.

On Monday, investigators announced that a bloody fingerprint found in the home was a match to Bresie's ex-boyfriend.

Sanders, who was already being interviewed by VCSO detectives, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail.
