An Amber Alert helped lead to the arrest of a 50-year-old man accused of abducting his step-granddaughter in the middle of the night.
A motorist spotted the pair Sunday morning and flagged down one of dozens of deputies searching for the 11-year-old and her step-grandfather, Darrell Mills. Deputies immediately tracked them down after the tip.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says Mills abducted the girl from her Apopka home just after 2 a.m. Authorities say she was found her more than eight hours later.
Authorities say they arrested Mills who is facing multiple felony charges including sexual battery on a child.

Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office say the young girl was taken from her home on Elderton Dr. by her step-grandfather, Darrell Mills, just after 2 am Sunday.
Mills, 50, is a black male who stands 6'1'' tall and weighs 220 pounds. He has a military style 'buzz cut,' and was last seen wearing no shirt and tan pants.
