Tampa Police are investigating a case of animal abuse after a puppy was found inside a trash bin.
Police told Action News a person heard moans coming from the trash and called for help.
When animal control officers arrived, they discovered a week old puppy inside a plastic bag inside the bin on N. 10th Street.
It was suffering from heat exhaustion. Officers cooled it down using ice cubes.
While investigating, animal control officers also found the pup's mom and several other puppies under a shed.
Police said charges are possible.
The dogs are being cared for at the Pet Resource Center.
