Man raising money for cancer via Beard-A-Thon

Posted
Anthony Pedicini of Tampa is raising money for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation through the NHL Beard-A-Thon. More than 1,000 hockey fans across the country are participating by growing beards and raising money for various causes.

Anthony’s motivation and inspiration comes from his younger brother, Thomas, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 21. After years of complications, Thomas has beaten cancer.

“Cancer is a disease that if you don’t battle hard and give your all, then you’ll lose the battle. If you ask any players on the hockey team, I bet they’d say the same thing. When they get on the ice, they give it all. Every game matters. I think there’s a great parallel between that and the fight against cancer,” Anthony Pedicini said.

The brothers grew up going to hockey games together and still bond while attending NHL hockey games now. One of their greatest memories is attending a game in Tampa together during the 2004 Stanley Cup Final, which the Tampa Bay Lightning went on to win!

Pedicini is very close to being the top fundraiser in the entire Beard-A-Thon. He’s already raised more than $12,000 for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Please consider donating here.
