ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A small plane from a local flight school landed in the water near Albert Whitted Airport in St. Pete Wednesday afternoon.

Good Samaritans and the Coast Guard helped rescue four people from the plane. The Good Samaritans helped get all four people out of the plane and into their boat and then transferred them to the Coast Guard Response Boat minutes later.

Three of the people on board refused medical treatment and the fourth person has been taken to the hospital. There were no life-threatening injuries reported, according to the Coast Guard.
