A 56-year-old man’s body was found Thursday in a canal behind his Venice home.
Edward Stack, 56, of 430 Bermuda Isles Circle is believed to have drowned in the canal in the Chesnut Creek neighborhood, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.-
Deputies began searching for Stack about 2 p.m. after receiving a report of a swimmer in distress. His body was found about an hour and a half later.
No further information was released.
