Deputies are investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman whose body was found Thursday near railroad tracks in Lakeland.
According to police, the autopsy was conducted and her cause of death is pending toxicology. There was nothing to indicate any foul play.
Wendy Norman of 3626 Ruthven Drive in Lakeland was found about 1:15 p.m. near Maine Avenue and Dawn Heights Drive, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Her body was found near railroad tracks in the area, deputies said, and her cause of death is unknown.
Norman was reported missing 7:15 p.m. Wednesday by her mother, Margaret Norman, deputies said.
She reported that her daughter had last been seen about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
