TRINTY, Fla. -- A fire burning mulch at a Pasco County waste management company caused State Road 54 to be closed for hours early Friday morning.
Pasco Fire Rescue received a call around 10:00 p.m. of a brush fire at PAW Materials.
When firefighters arrived on scene they found a large mulch pile fully engulfed in flames. Crews report the pile was approximately 30 feet high and 300 feet long.

Additional fire crews were called to fight the flames due to the size of the fire and a lack of hydrants in the area.
Firefighters used 3,000 feet of hoses, two ladder trucks and 2 trackhoes. It took about three hours for firefighters to bring the fire under control.

No one was hurt battling the fire and no structures were threatened by the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
