PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A two-alarm fire damaged several apartment units in Pasco County Saturday evening.
Pasco County Fire Rescue said firefighters arrived at the Tuscano at Suncoast apartments in Odessa and saw heavy fire coming from the second and third floor of one of the apartment buildings.
Firefighters evacuated more than 100 residents from 48 apartments.
According to a press release, firefighters say the sprinkler and alarm system activated successfully.
15 families were displaced by the fire and the American Red Cross responded to the scene to help residents with shelter and clothing.
Investigators say the fire started as a result of illegal grilling on a second-floor balcony.
