One dog is dead and another was rescued after a fire ripped through a home on Apline Drive in Brandon early Thursday.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says when they arrived on scene they found flames through the roof of the home and a live power line was down. Firefighters battled the fire from the outside until the power line was secured.
Officials say the occupant was not home when they arrived on scene.
During a search of the inside of the house, firefighters rescued one dog. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is investigating the cause of the fire.
