A Brooksville home was destroyed by a fire while a woman was away at a Bible study, Hernando Fire Rescue says.
At about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Hernando County Fire Rescue received a 911 call from a passerby for a home on fire at 7361 Mobley Rd.
Within seven minutes, crews were on scene and reported a fully involved mobile home fire.
Crews took a defensive approach due to the heavy involvement that had already breached the roof.
The fire was brought under control at 8:41 p.m. The Battalion Chief says the resident was away at church for Bible study.
The house sustained heavy damage and is not tenable, authorities say.
Due to extensive damage, cause of the fire is not immediately known.
The woman who lives in the home will be staying with family in the meantime, authorities said.
HCFR responded to the scene with 2 fire engines, 1 water tender, 2 rescues and 2 battalion chiefs. The City of Brooksville F.D. provided mutual aid with 1 fire engine. for a total of 16 personnel. There were no reported injuries to civilians or responders.
