“Hopefully, he'll come up here to Tampa, spend time with his kids, retire, and move on," he said. "I think the Tampa area would be a good place because it doesn't have as much of the nightlife as Miami; South Beach has a lot of drugs in it.”
Simpson was granted parole after nine years in prison for a Las Vegas robbery, a group of four Nevada commissioners decided today. The imprisoned former NFL player could be released as early as Oct. 1.
After learning he would be released, Simpson, 70, was emotional, showing visible relief. As he left the hearing room and went back inside the prison, Simpson could be heard saying, “Oh! God! Oh!”
Pardo said Simpson enjoys being around people. He worries that once Simpson is released from prison, some people will do whatever they can to make sure they catch him violating his probation.
“I'm afraid he'll end up back in there and it won't be his fault, you know, he won't be able to stop it,” Pardo said.
During the parole hearing Simpson said he wanted to get out of prison and live the rest of his life enjoying time with his four children. Simpson’s son and daughter that he had with Nicole Brown currently live in Pinellas County. They have stayed out of the public eye and made no comments regarding their father’s parole.
