Two construction workers were rescued Sunday morning from the side of a Sarasota high rise Sunday morning, officials said.
One worker was freed by coworkers from scaffolding left dangling on the side of the building, Sarasota County spokesman Jason Bartolone said. A second worker had to be rescued by Sarasota County firefighters.
They were members of a construction crew working on a new condominium project on Tamiami Trail in downtown Sarasota called Vue.
A rope on the scaffold broke, leaving the two workers dangling between the 14th and 15th floors, Bartolone said. He estimated the building is about 17 stories high.
The workers, whose name were not released, did not have any obvious signs of injuries, Bartolone added.
The worker who was dangling on the scaffolding for about an hour before firefighters freed him was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
