A Tampa Bay Area theft victim is asking the community for help catching the person who stole a delivery package off her front porch on Friday.

A home surveillance camera took video of the theft, and after the victim posted the video to her Facebook page, it has been seen by nearly 100,000 people by Monday morning.

"#Lakeland I need your help!" wrote Cari Anne Baker online. "This woman stole a VERY expensive package off of our porch on Friday afternoon. Please look at her walk, her shirt, her hair, the car with the hubcap missing, all of it!"

"I'm on a mission to find her," adds Baker. "One of the first things we learn as a child is not to steal! I would like to personally remind her."

In part because of Baker's post, the Polk County Sheriff's Office has been able to identify a suspect: Brandi Michelle Sumner, 43.

Sumner already has several outstanding warrants for her arrest, including credit card theft, motor vehicle theft, and felony fraud.

"Sumner has two very distinct tattoos on her neck," says the Polk County Sheriff's Office. "Behind and just below both the left and right ear, Sumner has a blue tattooed star."

Anyone with information in Sumner’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 863.577.1600, or 863.298.6200.

Heartland Crime Stoppers is also offering a cash reward for a tip that leads to an arrest in the case. Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).

"Porch Pirates," as package thieves are sometimes called, are known to be more active during the holiday season when deliveries are more common.

Law enforcement experts encourage people to make sure you are home if you know you are having something expensive delivered to your house. If you can't make those arrangements, you're encouraged to have packages sent to your workplace, or arrange for the package to be sent to someone else who is available to receive instead.
