New Ruskin intersection causing confusion, accidents

A new intersection in Ruskin is being labeled as an "accident waiting to happen" due to confused drivers.

The first accident happened just the other day.

ABC Action News Anchor, Paul Lagrone looked into the confusing intersection of 24th Street and Shell Point Road. It is just a two-way stop and it is leading to many collisions.

Lagrone took footage of the intersection to Public Works Manager Bob Campbell and after seeing what our cameras recorded, he ordered county workers to put up signs warning drivers which lanes do not stop.

In order for stop signs or even a traffic light to be put in, a traffic study has to be done by the county. The study is scheduled for after the holidays, leaving many drivers hoping more accidents don't happen between now and then.
