Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are investigating to determine what caused a man's death behind a closed supermarket on Sheldon Road.
A man later identified as Charles L. Corns, 28, was found about 1 a.m. Saturday behind the Fresco Y Mas Supermarket at 8424 Sheldon Road in the Town 'N' Country area, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokesman Danny Alvarez said.
A passerby reported spotting Corns behind the retail plaza, Alvarez said.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office had taken possession of Corns's body to determine the cause of death, Alvarez said.
Authorities have not release the cause of Corns's death, and are calling it suspicious until the cause can be determined, he added.
Members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Forensics Team were on scene gathering evidence before dawn Saturday.
