There is yet another potential roadblock for the controversial TBX toll project.
ABC Action News found out that the Florida Department of Transportation is facing more lawsuits over a similar express lane project in South Florida.
This means another delay for the TBX project in Tampa for the foreseeable future.
The Florida Department of Transportation is swimming in lawsuits over the express lanes along I-95. While the project here is on hold until officials can get the public on board.
A law firm in South Florida just filed two lawsuits against FDOT for failing to maintain the I-95 express lanes, saying they are creating a hazard for drivers.
This is among numerous suits already filed.
Many suits are claiming that the plastic dividers separating express lanes aren't enough to stop people skipping the tolls and driving into the express lanes to escape traffic, which has led to hundreds of accidents.
The promotional video for the TBX project in Tampa features the same plastic dividers.
A press conference discussing the most recent lawsuits against FDOT is set for 11 a.m on Tuesday morning.
