Brandon man sought in fatal nightclub shooting

An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in a fatal night club shooting in Brandon early Friday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. 

Hillsborough detectives are searching for Steve Edmound Evans, 32, of Brandon. He is being sought in connection with the shooting death of 24-year-old David Allen Smith at the Taiga Nightclub, 10315 Causeway Blvd. in Brandon.

Smith was shot shortly after 1 a.m  Friday in an altercation outside of the club. He was shot at least once, according to a Hillsborough sheriff's office release.

The suspect fled in an unknown make and model gray vehicle.

Smith died at a local hospital.

Authorities later identified Evans as the suspect in the incident.

He is described as 6-foot-1, 200 pounds with black hair and short, stubble facial hair.

Evans is possibly driving a black Chevy Tahoe or green Buick Park Avenue.

He faces charges of first degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
