A 6-month-old child was found dead at home in the 400 block of Acorn Court in Clearwater Friday, officials said.
Pinellas deputies responded to a call at the house on Acorn Court in Clearwater in reference to an unresponsive 6-month-old infant about 8:50 a.m Friday, a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report said.
The child's parents, Keith and Amy Calabrese, said their son, 6-month-old Elijah Calabrese, wasn't feeling well Thursday. Keith Calabrese took the child from his crib and brought Elijah into the bed with him because the child was fussy.
When Keith Calabrese woke up he found Elijah next to him on the bed, lying face down, and unresponsive.
Keith and Amy called 911 and they performed CPR on Elijah until paramedics arrived.
Elijah was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives say that Elijah had no obvious signs of injury. Elijah was being treated for a preexisting medical condition.
The investigation continues.
