1 dead, 7 injured at Tampa strip club shooting

UPDATE: Police have identified the person that died in Saturday morning's shooting at Marvin Douglass Lancaster III of Brandon.

Shots rang out at a gentlemen's club on North Nebraska Avenue in Tampa early Saturday, claiming one life and injuring seven other people.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. at Club Rayne at 8123 N. Nebraska Ave., the Tampa Police Department said.

One person died and seven others were injured, including one victim who was driven to an area hospital in a personal vehicle, a Tampa police news release states. All of the victims suffered gunshot wounds.

Tampa police homicide detectives and representatives from the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office and Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office are on the scene.

No information has been released about who was responsible for the shooting.

The number of people in the club at the time of the shooting has not been released.

Tampa police said the investigation is still in the preliminary stages. They are asking for witnesses of the incident who may have information or cell phone video to contact the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
