Grouper Week is back!
Celebrate the unofficial fish of St. Pete and Clearwater with a tasty grouper dish. The grouper is known to be the ‘hometown hero’ of Tampa Bay.
DID YOU KNOW: 80 percent of grouper that Florida supplied to the United States last year was from the St. Pete / Clearwater area. Out of the 7.5 million pounds of grouper caught in the Sunshine State, 4.6 million came from Pinellas County alone.

“St. Pete / Clearwater is the grouper capital of the United States,” said David Downing, President/CEO of Visit St. Petersburg Clearwater. “The most authentic thing you can do here locally is have grouper.”
VSPC will be bringing the taste of fresh gulf grouper to the masses with its Grouper Week Food Truck Takeover. Free samples will be dished out to celebrate.
We checked out the Salt Rock Grill and the grouper did not disappoint!
“Grouper is such a signature taste of the destination, we celebrate it each year during grouper week,” said Downing.
