It’s time for the third annual celebration of Tampa’s Riverwalk!

With exciting activities, live entertainment and food festivals throughout the weekend-long festivity, the 2017 Tampa Riverfest will certainly deliver the sights and sounds of downtown Tampa.

The Hot Dog Festival is new on this year’s lineup of events, which will kick off on Saturday, May 6 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Aside from the hot dog tasting event and adorable wiener dog derby race, the main attraction will be the Hot Dog Eating Contest that will serve as an official qualifier for The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. This qualifier will send one man and one woman to compete against some of the world’s most competitive eaters at New York City’s Coney Island

Later on Saturday evening will be the popular Hot Air Balloon Glow, which also will be at Curtis Hixon Park. This picturesque event begins at 8:30 p.m. – 9 p.m., so make sure to grab the camera.

The grand finale on Sunday, May 7 will be headlined by the Florida Orchestra with a free Pops in the Park concert.

Unfortunately, the fireworks display on Sunday night has been canceled due to the burn ban in Hillsborough County.

Riverfest 2017 is a free event to the public on May 6-7, with many other attractions happening along the entire Riverwalk at five different riverside parks. Click here for the entire list of events.
